Gmail: You received mail with virus but we did not fetch it

If an e-mail contains an attached file with virus you can pretty much guarantee it is spam so Gmail please don’t bother sending me e-mail telling me you did not fetch the email.

Well, if they didn’t do that, how else would they let you know about it so you could right a blog post about it, giving them free publicity about their cool non-mail-fetch-yet-still-notifying features?
