Google Web Accelerator warning

Google released Web Accelerator earlier this week. It is an application that makes browsing faster by caching and preloading pages. But there are problems as 37Signals points out:

Here’s the problem: Google is essentially clicking every link on the page — including links like “delete this” or “cancel that.”

I installed it the other day and found other problems with web applications. I was unable to login to a community portal i use. After reading the 37Signals post I assume this is due to the same issue as an logout link is included on each page.

Another problem I encountered was that after uninstall of Google Web Accelerator it made Mozilla Firefox useless. I was not able to launch the program. I also tried the steps that was listed on MozillaZine, but no luck. I had to uninstall and reinstall to get it working again.

Conclusion: do not install! Google should abandon this software.
