Great script by JavaScript guru Dean Edwards (of IE7 fame - the script not the browser). This solves the window.onload problem. When using window.onload the browser downloads everything on the page (all images etc.) before the onload function is executed. Thus the user will experience a lag time if the onload function is very comprehensive.
